Hanging of the greens

On November 28, 2017, at 6 PM, we invite you to participate in a casual “Hanging of the Greens,” here at the church.

What IS “Hanging of the Greens?”

One of the first things the early church did, in preparation for Advent, was to hang greenery, traditionally associated with everlasting life. Greens such as cedar for royalty, fir and pine boughs for everlasting life, holly symbolizing Jesus' death and ivy representing the resurrection were used (and in some churches, still are).

While our green décor isn’t “live,” we look forward to having you join us!

Contact Missy Chapman, no later than Monday morning, November 27, 2017, if you would like to arrange childcare.

November 5th was Commitment Sunday and many of you submitted your financial pledges for 2018 church operations and outreach programs. We are now reaching out to those who have not had the opportunity to join us in making a commitment for the coming year. This can be done by mailing your pledge card to the church or dropping it in the offering plate on Sunday. Extra cards are available in the church office or on the Gathering Room table.

Advent Devotionals will be available in the foyer beginning Sunday, November 26th. Please take one home as you prepare your hearts for Advent.
