  • There will be a congregational meeting today immediately following the 11:00am service for the purpose of electing an Associate Pastor Nominating Committee (“APNC”) and to elect Ruling Elders and Deacons in conformance with church Bylaws.

  • 2017 Fall Youth Retreat returns to Lutherhill Ministries, La Grange, TX, September 15-17. Registration closes on August 31st. Cost is $115. The guest speaker is Titus Benton.   • The Thursday Morning Women's Bible Study will kick off a new session starting September 7th. This fall we will be tackling Beth Moore's “James: Mercy and Triumphs”. Topics include joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom and gifts from above to name a few. James, Jesus' own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. This groups meets every Thursday from 10-11:30am in Faith Express. Childcare is provided.   • The Second Tuesday Women's Prayer Circle will start the school year on September 12th in Room 209, 10am-12pm. We will be studying what we believe as stated in the Apostles Creed with the book titled Creed by Adam Hamilton. For more information, contact Betty Courtin.
  • The Voyager class is studying the Book of Confessions. This study encompasses the official texts of the eleven confessional statements of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Each creed is introduced by an essay providing historical and theological background of our reformed faith.
  • Cultivators and Adventurers classes will continue to meet together at 10am in Room 209 for a study led by K Adams, who is teaching a series on "Lunatics, Heretics, and Other People of God", pairing various historic religious leaders with biblical leaders each of whom, while seeking to live more faithfully, found themselves falsely accused and ultimately ostracized from the current religious establishment yet whose lives and works initiated new movements in the Church.
  • Last Wednesday Book Club will meet Wednesday, August 30th at 12:30pm at GLPC. We will review the book Everybody's Got A Seed to Sow by Yvonne Streit. This is the Brookwood Story.
  • You are not meant to endure cancer alone. Cancer is hard but does not have to be lonely. CanCare is a nonprofit organization of trained volunteers who, themselves, are cancer survivors. They offer emotional support and hope to anyone going through a cancer diagnosis. For more information, contact CanCare.org or Carol Greene
  • Sweet Hour of Prayer - GLPC invites you to its new Prayer Room for a “Sweet Hour of Prayer That Calls Me from a World of Care.” The cozy room is available whenever the church is open and is on the second floor between the  media booth and Room 209. Spend  some personal  quality time with God, let go of anxiety, re-center yourself and grow your spirituality.
  • The Friday Morning Women's Bible Study is just starting a new study based on the book Praying with Power by Christa Kinde. If you have not been to our Bible Study, this would be a great time to start!! We meet Friday mornings at 9:00am in Room 201. Contact Judy Adams at with questions or for more information.   • Babies and Blessings starts again on September 14th. This is a group for moms, babies and preschool children meeting the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 10-11:00am at the church.   • Nursery Volunteers - We are looking for nursery volunteers who are passionate about Jesus and kids ages Infant-Preschool who can help on Sundays at 9am, 10am, or 11am when available.
